Watch the trailer for Warner Bros. Pictures' Twisters below.
Hang on to your hats, an epic adventure movie returns this summer.
From the producers of the Jurassic, Bourne and Indiana Jones series comes Twisters. A current-day chapter of the 1996 blockbuster Twister, this upcoming big-screen thrill puts viewers in direct contact with one of nature’s most destructive forces.
Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the Oscar-nominated writer-director of Minari, Twisters features an all-star cast which includes Normal People’s Daisy Edgar and Glen Powell (Anyone But You, Top Gun:Maverick).
Edgar-Jones stars as Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser haunted by an encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns from the relative safety of New York City.
After being lured back to the open plains of Oklahoma to test potentially ground-breaking new tracking technology, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Powell), a charming and reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures online.
As storm season intensifies and phenomena of terrifying proportions are unleashed, Kate, Tyler and their opposing teams find themselves in the paths of multiple storm systems, forced to come together in an attempt to tame the ferocious tornados.
Chung directs from The Revenant writer Mark L. Smith’s screenplay, based from a story by Joseph Kosinski and characters created by Michael Crichton & Anne-Marie Martin.
The feature is produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, with Thomas Hayslp, Ashley Jay Sandberg and legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg acting as executive producers.
The creative team boasts director of photography Dan Mindel (Mission Impossible, Star Wars: The Force Awakens), production designer Patrick Sullivan (Brightburn, art dir. Twister), editor Terilyn A. Shropshire (The Woman King), costume designer Eunice Jera Lee and composer Benjamin Wallfisch (Blade Runner 2049).
Twisters arrives in cinemas on July 17, 2024. Buy tickets here.
