WATCH: Trailer lands for moving Irish language film Róise and Frank
The eagerly awaited feature film is set to hit Irish cinemas on September 16th.
The trailer for a heartwarming new Irish language film, Róise and Frank, has been revealed.
The poignant drama takes place in the Gaeltacht area of Ring, Co. Waterford, and tells the story of the recently widowed Róise. In the aftermath of her husband Frank's passing, Róise is left isolated and grief-stricken, until a stray dog arrives and begins to follow her every move - leading her to believe in the reincarnation of her husband and the power of hope.
The film comes from the CINE4 scheme by TG4, Screen Ireland and BAI, and has already scooped accolades like Best Ensemble at the Dublin Film Critics Circle (DFCC) Awards, and Audience Award winner at both the Santa Barbara and Sonoma International Film Festivals. It is also set to screen at the Galway Film Fleadh later this month.
Directors Peter Murphy and Rachael Moriarty say they are "thrilled" the film will be in Irish cinemas this autumn, adding that "International audiences have loved the story of Róise, the dog and the hurling so we are hoping our home crowd enjoy it too!"
Produced by Cúán Mac Conghail of Macalla Teo, Róise and Frank will hit Irish cinemas this September.
