Zoë Kravitz will follow in the footsteps of Michelle Pfeiffer, Halle Berry and Anne Hathaway.
The Catwoman to Robert Pattinson's Batman has been found: Zoë Kravitz will play expert burglar and potential Bruce Wayne love interest Selina Kyle in the new Batman adaptation directed by Matt Reeves.
After competing with three other actresses for the role, Kravitz convinced the producers during a reading with Robert Pattinson last weekend, The Hollywood Reporter reveals. Reeves himself confirmed the news on Twitter, posting a GIF of the actress answering her phone.

It won't be the first time Zoë Kravitz will take on the role of Selina Kyle, however. She previously voiced Catwoman in The Lego Batman Movie.
In other casting news, it was announced that Westworld star Jeffrey Wright is set to play Comissioner Gordon, while the rumour mill claims that Jonah Hill will star as a famous Batman villain - either The Riddler or The Penguin.
For The Batman, director Matt Reeves approaches the story of the Caped Crusader from a different angle. As Robert Pattinson told Variety: "It's an interesting direction. It's something from the comics which hasn't really been explored yet."
