100 Voices: Kate Kirby On Taking Time Out and Recharging: #NowWereTalking
We invited a 100-strong chorus of artists, writers, musicians, broadcasters, sports stars and more to contribute to Now We’re Talking, a mental health campaign, run in partnership with Lyons Tea and Pieta House. Sports Psychologist Kate Kirby shares her insight...
One thing I've learned is that what you do outside of training is incredibly important. You can't be switched on all the time. So taking time out, and quality time out, not the type where you're answering emails on the couch with the telly on in the background - is really important. It's not about pushing yourself as hard as you can all the time, because you just can't do that. You need to be able to step away, and a lot of people don't give themselves that luxury.
100 Voices was published in the Hot Press Mental Health Special in conjunction with Lyons Tea and Pieta House as part of the Now We're Talking Campaign. For more please visit hotpress.com/now-were-talking/
