We've foraged around the country to compile a list of Ireland's best meat free eats.
If there was one simple change you could make to improve your health, help out with the environment, reduce cruelty and save money would you do it?
Well the good news is that there is one lifestyle change that ticks all these boxes. Going vegan, or even just reducing your animal consumption in general, has huge benefits for your wellbeing, the environment and your pocket.
Hey, if it’s good enough for recent Oscar winner Cillian Murphy, then why not give it a go?
Here, we’ve gathered some of the best eats from meat-free kitchens across the country, all for your delectation.

The restaurant provides a six course tasting menu, available in a vegan or vegetarian format featuring such seasonal offerings as parsnip gnocchi, spring beans, parsley, basil, tomato or aubergine, greens and more.
Glas , 16 Chatham Street, Dublin
Nestled on a quiet street in a bustling part of town, Glas is a bijou veggie restaurant serving up tantalising vegan plates. Sonflour 9 Castle Street, Cork
The motto “Inspired by Italy, grown in Ireland’’ acts as Sonflour’s North Star. They aim to serve delish vegetarian and vegan food to the good people of Cork. With playful, real-capital inspired names for dishes such as ‘I Lost My Mind at the Shakey Bridge’, there’s buckets of charm at this fashionable restaurant. Our personal favourite is the ‘Prataí Prataí Prataí’ pizza, which features a triple threat of mashed sweet potato base, oven baked rooster potatoes and homemade purple potato chips, all topped with your choice of veggie or vegan cheese.

The Happy Pear’s David and Steve had been travelling opposite ends of the world, when both decided to become vegan within a week of each other – the first seed of the Happy Pear. The plant-based empire now includes a café in Greystones, a readymade supermarket meal franchise, cookbooks and a podcast.
