What do you like best about Dublin?
The creative scene hands down. Truly some of the best work that is out there is coming from our creatives. From musicians and composers, to artists and designers, the Dublin gals do it the best! There’s such a beautiful sense of community within the creative world, and I have met some of the most wonderful people because of it. It is the most exciting thing to see Dublin flourish like that.
What do you think is the most iconic thing about modern Dublin?
Probably the painting of that horse that hangs above the security area in Terminal 2 of Dublin Airport – I’m a huge fan of the Nicola Russell painting of Istabraq. I think about that painting more than I care to admit. Also, I’m an un-ironic fan of the Spire, I think it’s pretty cool.
Where is your favourite place to eat?
Doolally on Richmond Street is one of the best restaurants in Dublin, hands down. It has the friendliest staff and the most delicious menu – not to mention one of the most beautiful bathrooms of all time. I could eat only their Gunpowder chips for the rest of my life, and it’s a great spot for vegetarians too.
Dublin’s best bar?
Street 66 is the perfect bar for a catch-up, boogie or just a cheeky drink with the girls. The vibes, the interiors and the music are all 10/10. Never a bad night there. Such a perfect spot.
What’s your favourite shop in Dublin?
Om Diva on Dury Street. It’s where I got my start as a designer and Ruth, the owner, is one of the kindest and most nurturing people in Dublin to young designers. It has a full floor of Irish and local design, which houses some of the most talented designers based in Ireland. Not to mention the most exciting shop windows around, and the best staff!

Where do you shop for clothes?
Hands down the best place for any piece to add to any wardrobe is Lucy’s Lounge in Temple Bar. I have gotten most of my favourite pieces from there, with the most incredible vintage at unbeatable prices. There is always something for everything and anyone. A true treasure trove!
Favourite Dublin building?
I have such a love for the Olympia theatre. Truly one of the best venues. It’s the perfect size – it keeps the intimacy of a smaller venue, but can fit a full crowd. I have never attended a bad show there, because the energy is always right. Also, seeing my work on that stage always brings a tear to me eye.
Favourite Dublin neighbourhood?
Dún Laoghaire is one of the best areas, with the best public library for research – with the most amazing panoramic views of Dublin. There’s such a wonderful atmosphere there. Even on a stormy day, just watching the water makes you relax. It’s also full of great charity shops, which is always a huge plus.

What is your most loved spot in Dublin to catch some me-time?
Iveagh Gardens is one of the best public parks. It is my go-to whenever I need inspiration. The best way to get out of any funk is sitting on one of the benches and listening to the waterfall with a sketchbook in hand! Where is your favourite place to bring friends/family when they visit Dubli A coffee from Il Caffe Di Napoli, on Westland Row followed by a browse around the National Gallery. Looking at work from artists like Alexander Calder and William Leech is always such a treat. Then to the Natural History Museum to take a gander at the big bodies. Then on to a meal in the Ivy on Dawson Street, and a drink at the Trocadero after.
