We’re raising a glass with Bushmills Irish Whiskey to bring you the ultimate Irish Coffee recipe just in time for Irish Coffee Day, Saturday, January 25.
Did you know?
The iconic Irish Coffee is credited to chef Joe Sheridan, who first served it to travellers at Limerick’s Foynes Airport in the 1940s. Its delicious blend of rich coffee, smooth whiskey, and creamy perfection quickly captured the world’s imagination, becoming a timeless favourite.
Ready to jump in and make the classic cocktail that’s been warming hearts for decades?
Here’s how to make it just right with Bushmills:
The Perfect Bushmills Irish Coffee:
Ingredients:
- 50ml Bushmills Black Bush Irish Whiskey
- 150ml black coffee (your favourite brew!)
- 1 tsp demerara sugar
- Lightly whipped fresh cream
- A few coffee beans for garnish
Method:
- In an Irish coffee glass, combine Bushmills Black Bush, black coffee, and demerara sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves, leaving space at the top for the cream.
- Gently pour the lightly whipped cream over the back of a spoon to create that signature floating top.
- Garnish with a few coffee beans, sit back, and enjoy!
