Chantelle Cameron's trilogy fight with Katie Taylor has been thrown into uncertainty
The English fighter from Northampton, Chantelle Cameron, has released a post on Instagram declaring that she will no longer continue her trilogy fight with Irish fighter Katie Taylor.
She captions the post by saying, "Just an update on talks with the Katie fight. I have agreed to a massive purse reduction to make this fight happen financially as this was what I was told was the hold up from the fight being agreed."
She continues: "The reason is because I wanted to create my own legacy. Now it looks like Katie will take a 'keep busy' fight and avoid me as I think she knows that certain things that went her way in the last fight won’t happen again. Sorry to the actual boxing fans who wanted to see this fight but the trilogy not happening is down to Katie and her team and not me."
Last May, Cameron became the first pro boxer to defeat Katie Taylor, as the two duked it out in the ring at the 3Arena in Dublin, with Cameron coming out on top by a majority decision. In November, however, Katie brought home a win of her own with a majority decision victory at the same venue, leaving the record as 1-1.
The third matchup had been introduced for Croke Park, but Cameron was quoted in an interview saying that the fight would happen at 3Arena in May.

"Me and Katie both want the fight, it's just to do with us getting paid the correct money," says Cameron.
"Croke Park’s not happening, it’s gonna be at the 3Arena."
She later denied saying this and had assumed that she had been misreported.
Katie Taylor, now a two-weight undisputed world champion reported to have earned between €1 and €3 million for both Cameron fights, although the purse wasn't announced officially. Out of her 23 wins, she has won 6 by knockout and 17 by decision.
When asked about Taylor, Connor McGregor said, "Katie's a super woman – for God and for country, that's what she is. She stands by her beliefs, she called her shot, and I'll always back Katie – all the way."
