All funds will go to Shannon’s Hopeline, a charity which offers a lifeline to teens in distress
In 2012, when Shannon Kelleher was just 13 years of age, the teenager took her own life. In reaction to this tragedy, Shannon’s family set up Shannon’s Hopeline in her honour. The charity aim or offer counselling and education to teens as well as attempting to remove the stigma surrounding the mental health of our youth. To celebrate Shannon’s 21st birthday, the charity - in association with Battle of the Axe - are turning the sad day into a positive fundraising occasion.
In a statement, Tony Ferns of Battle of the Axe has said, “This could be anyone or anyone's family. Sadly we lost two comedians in recent years too. Showing an appreciation for Shannon's Hopeline is my way of thanking my gods for my gifts in life and hopefully helping the charity and others along the way.”
The hilarious Joe Dowlin, Willa White and Aoife Dooley are among the comedians set to perform at the fundraiser.
