Established by the late Kathleen Ryan in 1936, Cleo began as a small retail outlet in Dublin, selling only authentic hand-knit sweaters from the Aran Islands. Nowadays, Cleo is run by Kathleen’s daughter Kitty and her granddaughters Helen and Sarah, and the store is positively thriving. Specialising in exciting Irish clothing made from natural fibres, their stock includes a brilliant range of hand-knit sweaters. They also have a superb selection of coats, capes, linen blouses, shirts, and much more. The clothing, made lovingly by Irish artisans and crafts-people, has been called “wearable art”, and it’s easy to see why. Cleo also stock a gorgeous array of accessories and gifts that blend tradition and whimsy, including felt flowers, tweed mice, and handknit bunnies – perfect presents for little family members!
