Nine months since opening, the Cork branch of the BrewDog pub chain has closed its doors after staff were informed yesterday.
Despite only opening this past July, Cork's BrewDog has just announced its closure.
A part of a greater chain pioneered by self-described "Scottish 'beer evangelists'" James Watt and Martin Dickie, the closure comes only nine months into the pub's business.
The Cork branch specifically was owned by Westside Leisure Group, complete with three floors, two bars, and a plethora of drinks as a part of their on-tap selection. It opened in what was formerly the Grand Central nightclub and brought to Cork 50 new job positions.
The chain also has locations in London and in Dublin. Staff of the Cork location were only informed of the closure Monday, confirmed Cork Beo.

Despite recent poor reviews criticising food quality on Google and accusations of alleged mistreatment of service workers, the chain hopes to "bring BrewDog back to Cork as soon as we can."
In the interim, their social media for their Cork pub has been taken down in addition to removing the location from their website.
