Anyone who missed out on tickets to 2023's Electric Picnic has a chance to still make it through Tour De Picnic, a fundraising cycling and running event raising money for charity.
Tour De Picnic 2023 is both a fundraising event and a chance for music-lovers to secure last-minute tickets to the acclaimed September festival Electric Picnic.
Those who take on the challenge can choose between a 17km run or 80km cycle, although participation requires €450 to be raised for three charities Tour De Picnic is working alongside.
The charities include the Children's Health Foundation, which focuses on raising funds to support sick children and their families at Children's Health Ireland hospitals, Childline by ISPCC, a 24 hour listen service for children and young people across Ireland, and Jack and Jill, a nationwide charity providing at-home nursing care for kids ages 6 and under.

Promoting the event, Melvin Benn, the festival director of Electric Picnic returns to take part in Tour De Picnic once more.
“It really is such a fantastic start to the festival weekend," he says. "A weekend of great music and entertainment awaits at the finish line – and it is one less car on the road too!”
Students have the option to only raise €400, although student ID is required.
Registration is included in the final sum.
On September 1st, the first day of the festival, the cyclists' 80km journey will begin at Tallaght Stadium. From there, they'll travel in the direction of Blessington Greenway, through some of Ireland's largest dairy farms, Brannockstown, and Barrow Blueway before arriving in Stradbally.
Once there, they'll have access to the festival and be able to see acts like Billie Eilish, Niall Horan, Fred again.., Lewis Capaldi, The Killers, and more.
"I’m no stranger to Tour de Picnic as I cycled to Stradbally for the first two Tour de Picnics!" Iain Ward, the "King of Chemo," recalled.

"It’s all in aid of some great charities too so the journey really starts with the fundraising – so throw yourself into it, click the sign-up button on tourdepicnic.ie, set up a fundraising profile and share it on social media so people can help support you and the challenge you’ve set yourself! And don’t worry, the cycle and run is a one way trip. Everyone gets a bus back, so don’t feel you need to behave yourself on Sunday.”
Alternatively, the 17km run starts at Course town B&B and Country House in Athy, Co Kildare. From there, runners will travel through beautiful scenery consisting of farmland, Coillte forests, and Oughvale Woods.
The Rugby player Dan Sheehan also threw his support behind the event, encouraging hopeful festival goers to help the project.
“I’m delighted to be involved in Tour de Picnic this year and I’d urge anyone who can to get involved, whether it’s running or cycling, it’s all a bit of fun and will really help raise vital funds for three great children’s charities.”
The final call comes after Electric Picnic announced 40 new acts added to the line-up, including PinkPantheress, The Murder Capital, Nia Archives, Snail Mail, Ethel Cain and more.
