During a new interview with BBC News, Footballer Cantona was asked which artists he would consider opening for as a support act, to which the Marseillan footballer replied with 'The Stones'.
One of Manchester United's greatest footballers of all time, Eric Cantona released his four track EP I'll Make My Own Heaven, today.
The 57 year old footballer turned actor is now trying his hand at music after announcing his his four track EP in May of this year.
Catona plans to release his first album soon, but has made the rather unusual choice of recording a live album as his debut. Only a handful of artists have done this before, such as fellow Eric, Eric Clapton and the Yardbirds, and they didn't report much commercial success with their debut Five Live Yardbirds.
During a new interview with BBC News, Cantona was asked which artists he would consider opening for as a support act, with the outlet noting that he is “just starting out”. He responded: “I do not understand what you mean.”
When the interviewer tried to explain the 'hierarchy of music' the former football star replied with 'No'.
He continued: “I am a headliner. It’s why I cannot understand you. Maybe The [Rolling] Stones can support me”.
