When a fire broke out in the beloved Dublin venue today, it was all hands to the pump. The good news is that the fire is now under control, and there were no reported injuries.
A fire broke out this morning at the renowned Dublin venue, Vicar Street. Dublin Fire Brigade started to receive reports just before noon today (June 28). Emergency services raced to the Dublin 8 venue to battle the blaze.
People had been sharing photos and videos on Twitter of smoke rising from that part of the Liberties, just south of the River Liffey, since this morning.
Gardai evacuated the area, closing off Thomas Street, and putting local diversions in place. The fire is now said to be under control, and crews are attempting to damp down any hotspots. The immediate word is that firefighters were able to successfully prevent any significant spreading of the fire.
