Watch the new video in our series below...
Our special series with Guinness continues – with a new video starring award-winning Zimbabwean-Irish rapper God Knows, who shares his unique insights into the city he helped transform into one of Ireland's top hip-hop strongholds: Limerick.
The series – which has already featured unforgettable contributions from Celaviedmai and Róisín O – is a celebration of some of our all-time favourite things: great music, brilliant chats, and the hunt for the perfect pint. Across the series of videos, we sit down with a dazzling selection of Irish artists, who present their case for the best spot in Ireland for a Guinness.
At the heart of the series, which is tied in with the Lovely Day For A Guinness campaign, is an appreciation for the inspiring and diverse culture, history and beauty of Ireland – which tends to be on particularly fine display whenever the sun decides to shine. Each artist in the series takes us straight to the heart of their selected city or town, whether it be their hometown, a spot imbued with happy memories, or an adopted home away from home. The videos offer a unique insight into what makes each artist tick – as they share their iconic reflections, impart some words of wisdom, and pay homage to the place that means so much to them.
As one of the three founders of narolane records – alongside Denise Chaila and MuRli – God Knows has earned his reputation as one of the key players in Ireland's hip-hop revolution. Back in 2017, he made history as a member of Rusangano Family, by securing the first Choice Music Prize 'Album of the Year' award for a hip-hop record, Let The Dead Bury The Dead.
Following the release of his acclaimed 2020 solo EPs, Who's Asking Vols. I & II, God Knows has continued to expand his musical horizons on his latest EP, We Move The Needle, featuring guest appearances from Jah Master and Senita.
