The Republic of Ireland Men's Football team is set to play Greece tonight in order to qualify for Euro 2024
The Republic of Ireland are set to play Greece tonight at the Aviva stadium Dublin. Kick-off begins at 7.45pm with coverage on RTE starting at 7pm.
This may be the last Irish fans see of Stephen Kenny, in what has been a rocky qualification campaign having only won one of their five matches of the qualifying campaign so far. As it currently stands, the Republic of Ireland sits behind France, the Netherlands and tonight's rivals Greece in Group B.
The former football player and current manger Stephen Kenny has said 'We want to finish as strongly as possible', saying the team is still in contention for automatic qualification.
Kenny continues: 'It's not in our own hands, we are relying on results elsewhere'. But in spite of this, he continues to say' It may not be enough, but we'd be kicking ourselves if we didn't do that and results did happen elsewhere'.
The team has been boosted by the return of Brighton striker Evan Ferguson who will wear the number 9 tonight. Ferguson returns after a knee injury meant he could not play in the September matches against France and Switzerland The Irish Football Twitter has posted the full squad for tonight on the platform:

In order to qualify for Euro 2024 a series of unlikely events needs to occur. Ireland need to beat Greece, Gibraltar and win in the Netherlands, hope Greece also beat The Netherlands side but also lose to France as well as seeing The Netherlands lose to Ireland, France and Greece. This would result in Ireland, Greece and the Netherlands all landing on 12 points, and in joint 2nd place in Group B.
The odds are slim but not mathematically impossible. COYBIG.
Ireland vs Greece coverage available on RTE from 7pm tonight with kick off at 7.45pm. You can watch it here on the RTE Player.
