Stuart Clark reports on the reopening of Ireland’s distillery visitor experiences and all the other latest whiskey and gin goings-on from around the country.
The end of summer may be drawing near, but Lambay Irish Whiskey remains determined to create cocktails that still pack the sweetest punch.
Launched in 2018 but drawing on centuries of proud tradition, Lambay’s acclaimed whiskey is triple distilled, bourbon cask matured and finished in french oak Cognac casks from the world-renowned cellars of Maison Camus in France.
Lambay Malt Whiskey recently scooped its fourth gold medal at the Spirits Business/Irish Whiskey Masters and gold at the International Wine and Spirits Awards (IWSC). To celebrate this impressive feat, the respected brand has created a dedicated cocktail to the infamous Maude Louise Lorillard Baring, the former Lady Revelstoke of Lambay island and wife of Cecil Baring - who purchased the mysterious island back in 1904.
This simple cocktail packs a gorgeously refreshing punch for any garden party. Replace the pomegranate seeds for fresh strawberries, if a more sour flavour tickles your fancy.
