Movember to host virtual SpeakEasy event for men's health awareness
The event will run virtually from 7-9pm on Wednesday, November 26th.
Men's health charity Movember is returning online this year, with its SpeakEasy event. Aimed at increasing participants awareness of what those around them go through, attendees will be provided with the tools to effectively support and connect with friends now – and when they need it in the future. You train your muscles at the gym, so why not train yourself to SpeakEasy and learn some useful skills to be there for a mate who is going through a tough time.
Movember raises funds to deliver innovative, breakthrough research and support programs that enable men to live happier, healthier and longer lives. Committed to disrupting the status quo, millions have joined the movement, helping fund over 1,250 projects focusing on mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
In addition to tackling key health issues faced by men, Movember is working to encourage men to stay healthy in all areas of their life, with a focus on men staying socially connected and becoming more open to discussing their health and significant moments in their lives. The charity’s vision is to have an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health.
“The lockdown is impacting us all in different ways," says Movember Ireland Country Manager Jack O'Connor. "Now more than ever, we need to look out for and support one another. Sometimes it’s hard to know what to do, where to start or what to say. As we push through this together, we hope we can empower people to connect with others who are struggling. To help people do this we’ve adapted our SpeakEasy event to be hosted online.”
Tickets for SpeakEasy are free, and you can register for you and your friends here. Grow a mo, save a bro! Sign up at ie.movember.com
