Phone Review: Sony Xperia XZ3
Sony is spitting out phones like a rapper spits out lyrics. XZ3 comes hot on the heels of XZ2 Premium. XZ2 was out six months ago. So if you've a recent Sony smartphone in your pocket, there's not much point upgrading to part three. The phone's high res 1440 x 2880 display looks incredible - movies and games leap to life - but equally impressive screens can be found on other new phones, such as the Huawei P20 Pro.
Sony, however, brings more bells and whistles than a Brazilian carnival. When using one hand, tap either side of the device to launch a menu of regularly used apps and settings. Pull the phone from your pocket, hold it in landscape, and it instantly enters camera mode. Unlike the current trend for multi-lens devices, Sony keeps it simple. There's a single 19MP lens on the rear; and a 13MP one up front. Sony then pulls a rabbit out of the hat with its 3D Creator, which lets you scan objects and faces, including your own proud head.
