Republic of Ireland will play Denmark in the World Cup play-offs
FIFA have announced the draw for the upcoming 2018 World Cup Russia play-off games this November.
The draw took place in Zurich at 13.00 today, with the eight best second place teams from the qualifying rounds being pooled in order to determine the next four available European slots in the upcoming tournament.
The eight teams were divided into two pots, the first containing the four seeded teams, while the remaining teams go into the second pot. Seeded teams in Pot 1 are Croatia (18) Denmark (19), Italy (15) and Switzerland (11).
Drawn by former Spanish captain, Fernando Hierro the results are as follows:
Croatia -v- Greece (Croatia home for first game)
Italy -v- Sweden (Sweden home for first game)
Switzerland -v- Northern Ireland (Northern Ireland home for first game)
Denmark -v- Republic of Ireland (Denmark home for first game)
The games will be played between November 9th and 14th 2017.
