The world premiere will take place in the National Concert Hall on Saturday, September 3. Tickets are on sale now.
The RTÉ Concert Orchestra have announced the live score of Room will be given it's world premiere at the National Concert Hall, Dublin.
It was revealed that the Oscar award winning film, accompanied by a live score performed by the Orchestra, will be screened on Saturday, September 3, with conductor Gavin Maloney.
The event will be introduced by Room director Lenny Abrahamson and Room composer Stephen Rennicks, in conversation with John Kelly.
Premiering at the Telluride Film Festival in the US on 4 September 2015, the film went on to receive nominations for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay at the 2016 Oscars. Room star Brie Larson took home the award for Best Actress at the star-studded event.
Based on the best selling novel by Irish-Canadian author Emma O'Donoghue, Room tells the story of an abducted woman and her son. Told through the eyes of five-year-old Jack (played by Jacob Tremblay), the movie details the pairs struggle to escape the only home the young boy has ever known.
After landing the Oscar for her career-defining role as Ma(Joy Newsome), Larson revealed she had almost quit acting before Room. The Captain Marvel star insisted it was her passion for acting and not money or fame that attracted her to it in the first place. "I never ever wanted to work on something for the money and that got me into trouble," the actress stated. "At one point, I did three independent films, had the most amazing experiences and didn’t get paid a cent," she further explained. "I didn’t have anything to my name. And that happened a few times where I would find myself down to the last dollar, backed up against a wall, ready to quit and the next day, something would come up and I would be saved. This wasn’t even that long ago."
