From creative cocktails to classics with a twist, the Hot Press Summer Drinks Special is crammed with glass acts to quench your thirst...
House
Found on Lesson Street, Dublin, House is something of a home away from home for cocktail lovers. Their impressive range of bespoke libations will perk up even the most jaded palate. We recommended you try Simplicity, which was conjured up by bar manager and all-Round drinks wizard Ken Herlihy.
A refreshing alternative to the Margarita, it contains 40mls of Don Julio Blanco, 20mls of Taylor’s Velvet Falernum, 50mls of freshly juiced pink grapefruit, 7mls of fresh lime juice and 3 blueberries. It’s finished with orange oils and a lime leaf ,and served in a salt-rimmed rocks glass over ice. The Velvet Falernum, a rum liqueur from the Bahamas, imparts notes of almond clove and mint, and really compliments Don Julio’s smooth agave tones of citrus and spice. It’s a perfect partner for the summer months.
