Having recently graced the 3Arena stage as a guest performer for the Leonard Cohen 90th Birthday Celebration Concert, the ex-Moving Hearts man is now set to deliver a memorable night of his own music for his Irish fans.

Pillow Queens
Set Theatre, Kilkenny (November 29)
The Dublin indie-rockers take to the stage in the Set Theatre Kilkenny at the end of November. The band started their Irish tour in October in association with Culture Ireland, along with support from local Irish artists in each of their 10 dates across the country. The Saw Doctors have sold out two dates on Dame Street following their cracker of a performance at this year’s Electric Picnic. The eight-man line-up, led by songwriting duo Davy Carton and Leo Moran, have just finished up their three-month summer tour, selling out venues in New York and Manchester. The group’s latest EP *WHA’D’YA THINK A THAT* was released on November 1, so you can look forward to some new material in the 3Olympia.

The Dublin singer-songwriter – and pub landlord – brings all of hits to the Real Capital for two back-to-back shows. The Limerick folk-rock band bring their Connection Tour to the capital, before heading to Kilkenny, Limerick, and Galway around Christmas. The five-piece will be supported by singer-songwriter Brian O’Brien. Formed in 2010, Hermitage Green has toured the US and Australia, building a global fanbase with their energetic live shows.

The Irish National Opera returns with a stunning version of the classic Giuseppe Verdi opera. Tipperary men Jonny Smacks and Jonny B bring their hilarious podcast show to the Big Smoke for a live Christmas performance. The duo will be performing hits from their album Small Town Heroes, plus plenty of chat and special guests throughout the night.

The arch-rivals go head-to-head this November in the United Rugby Championship. Leinster are on a roll at the moment, but with Ulster on home soil, there is no telling the outcome. One thing’s for certain: it will be a cracker of a match. Let’s hope there are no family feuds over this one before the Christmas season!

This thrilling annual meet returns with four days of racing, live music, fur shrugs, and fascinators. Just 40 minutes from the city centre, the festival is the perfect post-Christmas family day out, whilst everyone is still under one roof. The boys in blue will play yet again, this time in their home stadium against Leinster, as part of the United Rugby Championship. There is no doubt Munster will come down hard on Leo Cullen’s men after their narrow loss to their old rivals this time last year. Tensions are set to be high at this match; it’s not one to miss for rugby fans.
Christmas Racing Festival
Limerick Racecourse (December 26 - 29)
The four-day festival begins on St. Stephen’s Day, promising fun, glamour and top-class jump racing. The Republic of Grill Mexican food truck will be in operation throughout for those who are sick of turkey sandwiches. The final day of the festival is Family Fun Day, which will feature children’s amusements, keeping kids of all ages happy!
