The actor reportedly pre-taped stunts in Paris and Los Angeles for the August 11 ceremony.
Mission: Impossible star Tom Cruise is poised for an Olympics closing ceremony stunt. Assisting with the handoff between Paris and the 2028 host, Los Angeles.
According to TMZ, the actor has filmed stunts in both cities as part of a pre-taped segment. He is supposed to rappel down the Stade de France in Paris, travel by airplane to LA and end up at the famous Hollywood Hills sign.
Anne Hidalgo, the Paris mayor, will hand off the Olympic flag to Karen Bass, the LA mayor, a source told Deadline. Details of the ceremony, however, remain under wraps.

Nearly 29 million watched the Paris Opening Ceremony on July 26, according to Nielsen and Adobe Analytics – up by over 60% from the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
It featured musical performances by Lady Gaga, Aya Nakamura, the punk band Gojira and Céline Dion.
The 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics will run July 14-30 2028, marking the third time the city has hosted the Games since 1932 and 1984.
