On March 11, 2022, the band released a cover album called Mowing the Leaves Instead of Piling 'em Up, which features cover versions of songs by Gary Stewart, Roger Miller, Hotline TNT, The Smashing Pumpkins, Chris Bell, and more.
American alternative rock band Wednesday recently announced their special headline show at Dublin‘s Workman‘s Club on November 9, 2023. With their unique way of storytelling and a recognisable sound, the band has released five albums since their formation in 2017, with the latest, Rat Saw God, released on April 7, 2023.
To celebrate the album's release, the band is currently touring the US and will embark on a European tour on May 27. Before the official UK and Ireland tour kicks off on November 5 at Birmingham's Hare & Hounds, the European leg will include individual shows in the UK.
Karly Hartzman is the band's leader and a true song collector and storyteller. As a result Wednesday's most recent album, Rat Saw God, is both insightful and autobiographical. Hartzman, guitarist MJ Lenderman, bassist Margo Schultz, drummer Alan Miller, and lap steel player Xandy Chelmis create a multifaceted and detailed sound on the album's ten tracks.

"Rat Saw God is an album about riding a bike down a suburban stretch in Greensboro while listening to My Bloody Valentine for the first time," as the band describes their latest album. It was written in the months immediately following their Twin Plagues album and was recorded in a week at Asheville‘s Drop of Sun studio.
While being happy that Twin Plagues marked their breakthrough as a band, Hartzman was concerned about the reaction of listeners and her family since the songs "really spill your guts," as stated in the press release.

"I really jumped that hurdle with Twin Plagues where I was not worrying at all really about being vulnerable - I was finally comfortable with it, and I really wanna stay in that zone," Hartzman said.
Tickets go on sale on Wednesday 19th April at 10am and can be purchased here.
