The release comes ahead of their upcoming record FROM ZERO and its accompanying world tour.
Linkin Park have put out their first music in seven years, 'The Emptiness Machine’, which comes ahead of their upcoming album FROM ZERO, set for release on November 15. It will be accompanied by the launch of 6 arena shows this autumn in Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London, Seoul, and Bogota as part of the From Zero World Tour.
The band have also put out a global livestream performance, which you can watch back here for the next 12 hours only.
Linkin Park’s new lineup includes band members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, Joe Hahn, alongside Emily Armstrong (Dead Sara) as co-vocalist and Colin Brittain as drummer, following the death of Chester Bennington in 2017.
Speaking of the band’s new era, Shinoda explains: “Before Linking Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking.
“Sonically and emotionally,” he continues, “it is about past, present, and future—embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what Linkin Park has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.”

The releases come after Shinoda, Delson, Farrell, and Hahn quietly began meeting up in recent years, with no expectation on trying to restart the band. It’s after inviting various friends and cohorts to join them in the studio that they met Armstrong and Brittain, leading up to the birth of FROM ZERO.
“The more we worked with Emily and Colin,” Shinoda elaborates, “the more we enjoyed their world-class talents, their company, and the things we created. We feel really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant and energised new music we’ve made together. We’re weaving together the sonic touchpoints we’ve been known for and still exploring new ones.”
