Listen below to the punchy, guitar-led track from Irish folk giants Kingfishr
Irish indie-folksters Kingfishr have unveiled their vibrant new single 'I Cried, I Wept' following the release of their Live From Dublin album last month.
This new release marks a new dawn for Kingfishr: the track was born out of rousing, guitar-led melodies and captures the raw intensity of the trio in a room together.
‘I Cried, I Wept’ is a punchy, energetic gem that see’s the band add a lively indie belter to their rapidly growing and impressive back catalogue.
Bubbling beneath the charms of the acoustic-driven soundscape, the track sees lead singer Eddie Keogh explore the superficiality of modern life, of putting on a face to meet the faces that you meet.
“It represents the feeling of burying some piece of yourself in order for the rest of you to live on, and then wondering if that sacrifice will actually make a difference," the band say. "If it doesn’t, then where are you?”

The single comes as Kingfishr prepare to embark on their upcoming IE and UK headline tour after a high-octane festival circuit, playing slots at Glastonbury, TRNMST, All Together Now, Sea Sessions and more. The tour will see them play seventeen venues including Cork City Hall London’s Shepherd’s Bush, making it their biggest run of shows to date.
