The dream of a track comes ahead of the band’s highly anticipated upcoming album, All The Days, out October 4.
An atmospheric and hypnotising tune. ‘Slipping Through Your Hands’ wonderfully showcases Dublin alt-rockers The Devlins’ introspective sensibilities, while proving their talent for writing deeply addictive melodies.
Starting off with a minimalistic ensemble of spell-binding minor bass riffs, drums and Colin Devlin’s breezy vocal performance, the song picks up the pace on its first chorus, offering ambitious and dreamy harmonies, quickly followed by charming guitar hooks.
Colin describes the track as “an inner dialogue about time passing, looking back and reconnecting to who you once were and where you came from, through the lens of the present.”
With the juxtaposition of thoughtful lyricism and a major key melody, ‘Slipping Through Your Hands’ is a gently melancholic track with an undeniable infectious quality.
The single comes ahead of The Devlins’s upcoming record All The Days, their first full-length project in almost a decade, out October 4.
