Three people opened fire on the crowd who were attending an album release party.
Two people were killed and over 20 were injured in a shooting at the El Mula Banquet Hall in Hialeah, Florida where a number of local rappers were performing on Sunday May 30th.
Three of those wounded in the attack, which took place after midnight, are in critical condition. This was one of the largest mass shooting events in Florida in recent memory, authorities told the Miami Herald.
Three people exited an SUV and shot at the crowd with handguns and assault rifles. The banquet hall was hosting a Memorial Day album release party, with performances from local rappers, which included ABMG Spitta.
The authorities said that they believe the shooting was targeted. “These are cold blooded murderers that shot indiscriminately into a crowd and we will seek justice,” said police director Alfredo “Freddy” Ramirez III on his Twitter account.

“This type of gun violence has to stop. Every weekend it’s the same thing,” he said in a news conference. This is the second incident of gun violence during The Memorial Day weekend in Florida - a shooting in the Wynwood area killed one person and injured six more on Friday May 28th.
No arrests have been made so far, and the Miami Police Department have asked people to assist in identifying and catching the perpetrators.
