The new government restrictions, which include an 8pm curfew for hospitality and indoor events, come into effect from today.
The 3Olympia Theatre has announced that its Christmas pantomime will no longer take place as a result of the new Covid restrictions.
The Dublin theatre shared the news on Twitter, posting that "Unfortunately Olly, Polly and The Beanstalk panto will not be going ahead as planned in 3Olympia Theatre this season."
Thanking ticketholders for their "patience and understanding at this time", they also said Ticketmaster would be in touch over the coming days with more details.
The production was scheduled to begin this Wednesday December 22nd, and was to run through to January 9th.

The decision by the 3Olympia is as a result of new Covid-19 restrictions announced last Friday that come into effect today. Indoor events are now capped at 1000 people or 50% capacity, and all theatres, bars, restaurants and cinemas must now be closed by 8pm.
The new restrictions will be in place until January 30th.
