The Cork City festival, which kicks off next week, has announced additional events featuring Denise Chaila (pictured), God Knows, Junior Brother, Emmet Kirwan, Lemoncello, I Have A Tribe and more.
With one week to go, Sounds From A Safe Harbour has added 40 free events to its already action-packed line-up. Taking place in over 30 venues across Cork City from September 10-15, the festival is curated by Bryce and Aaron Dessner of The National, festival director Mary Hickson, Cillian Murphy and Enda Walsh.
As well as presenting an impressive selection of international artists, including Feist, Jon Hopkins, Efterklang and Sam Amidon, Sounds From A Safe Harbour also places an emphasis on celebrating local emerging artists and new projects. Additionally, in a special free concert taking place at the Kino on Saturday 14, Crash Ensemble will celebrate the launch of CrashLands. First premiered live in rural locations around Ireland in 2017, CrashLands is a studio recording of nineteen works by some of the leading composers of new music. They will also present the Cork premiere of Grey Area by local composer Sam Perkins.
