The new record comes out on June 13.
Irish duo 49th & Main have announced the release of their debut album Happy Tears for June 13, and put out the accompanying lead single ‘Mr Rain’, out now.
From self-releasing tracks in Kilkenny to selling out international tours, 49th & Main have built a sound that fuses UK garage, jazz-infused house, and emotionally charged indie-pop.
Since their formation, they’ve secured major festival slots at Glastonbury, Electric Picnic, and The Great Escape and signed with Counter Records.

Their new single, ‘Mr Rain’, which premiered on BBC Radio 1, “has been through it over the years,” 49th & Main’s Paddy comments. “My Dad had been at me to take one of his songs he wrote 36 years ago and let me and Ben do what we do.
“The first 4 lines are 36 years old and the rest I thought didn’t feel like I could relate so I started from there. It feels like a song about regret but in a fun bouncy way."
Their most recent single ‘Distractions’, which came out in February, is also set to be part of the album’s tracklist.
49th & Main are also set to embark on tour for 2025, kicking off with a gig at Trinity Ball 2025 in Dublin on April 11.
Happy Tears is available for pre-order here.
