The nine track mixtape features previously released singles 'Icy', Lovin You' and 'Crash And Burn', as well as new single 'Waster'.
Kilkenny based duo 49th & Main have today released their eagerly anticipated new mixtape B.O.A.T.S (Based On A True Story) via Counter Records.
The record consists of nine genre-spanning tracks, featuring double A-side 'Crash And Burn' and 'Said Nothing (feat. SKYLAR)' as well as 'Icy' and 'Lovin You'. The record cements a new era for the Irish duo, with their diverse range of sounds creating a unique genre hybrid that appeals to the masses.
Speaking about B.O.A.T.S, 49th & Main said: “The idea behind the title is to represent the two of us in an ‘alien’ environment. It encompasses how we're feeling in this industry at this stage, still wrestling with the idea that we belong here and are meant to feel at home beside other great artists on rosters & festival line ups etc. The record itself is classic 49th & Main, genres all over the place but designed to soundtrack the best times of your life.”
‘B.O.A.T.S’ IS FINALLY HERE!
We hope this project serves as part of the foundation on which we can continue to build a house full to the brim with you loving human beings. Can’t believe we finally get to share this.
Hope everybody doesn’t think it’s sh*t https://t.co/HfjMzk3lqb pic.twitter.com/tA3AWqdRDg— 49th & Main (@49thandMain) June 30, 2023

After being teased with a series of singles over summer so far, today's grand unveiling of B.O.A.T.S also shines a light on new track 'Waster'. A laid back summer jam, the song almost strikes an uncanny resemblance to its namesake, with lolloping guitar lines weaving between rippling synths.
To celebrate the release of their new mixtape, 49th & Main will also be hosting a boat party for fans this Wednesday, followed by an after party in The Lighthouse in Dun Laoighaire. the boat party will feature performances from Emma Power and Welshy.
Hailing from Kilkenny, the group consists of producer Ben O’Sullivan and vocalist and instrumentalist Paddy King, who together have been making waves across the globe in the last few years. The duo have over 1.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, with 2020 single ‘Catching Eyes’ amassing over 27 million streams.
They have amassed over 70 million streams in total and appeared as cover stars for Spotify's RADAR and Apple Music's Up Next. The duo also recently played the final ever show at Printworks, as well as a roadblock show at The Great Escape.
The Kilkenny duo also recently appeared at Dublin's Forbidden Fruit Festival, and will support Roisin Murphy on Sunday as part of the Trinity Summer Series. They will begin a headline U.K. tour this September, with shows in London, Cardiff, Manchester, Bristol, Leeds and Nottingham, with tickets on sale now.
