With the support of Richard Hawley’s legendary band, dynamic live force John Grant will sing the songs of country music icon Patsy Cline at Dublin’s National Concert Hall next week. With support from Irish country star CMAT and Lauren Housley, the night promises to be an unforgettable, one-of-a-kind ride.
Dynamic live force John Grant will bring his witty stage personality and searing, powerful vocals to Dublin next week, performing a concert dedicated to the discography of late country singer Patsy Cline.
The American singer-songwriter will celebrate the musical magic of country’s sweetheart Patsy Cline, whose vibrant life was not long enough. With evocative and sultry songs that narrated tales of heartbreak, drama, romance and joy, Cline and her life’s work set the stage for generations of female country stars to step into her glaring spotlight.
A proud Cline fan himself, Grant and Richard Hawley’s renowned band first performed the tribute show for Manchester International Festival this year, commissioned by Factory International. Now, the entourage will bring its act to Ireland, with support from special guest and rising Irish country emblem CMAT.
The show marks the second time the two singers have joined forces, after they released a collaborative single in July, ‘Where Are Your Kids Tonight?’ Of the single and working with Grant, CMAT said, "I always knew this song was going to be a duet, and when I was writing it I said to myself, 'It would be so good to get someone *like* John Grant on this' because a) his body of lyrics reflect my own life and experience more closely than anyone working today and b) I never thought we would get him. But I got him! And he is so sweet. His performance really adds the layer of profundity that I was looking for to carry off the two-ages staring at each other angle. Love him so much."

Next Tuesday, September 26, John Grant, CMAT and additional guest Lauren Housley will take over the National Concert Hall in Dublin for a memorable night, presented by Foggy Notions. Playing classics like ‘Walkin’ After Midnight’ and ‘Crazy,’ Grant and co. will cover songs that traverse the emotional terrain of heartbreak, drama, romance and joy – it is sure to be a worthy, one-of-a-kind ride.
