Following runs in London and New York, 'Let the Right One' In opened in November at the Abbey Theatre as the centrepiece of their 2017 winter season. And now, due to popular demand, two weeks of extra dates were added, meaning the production will now run from 18 November 2017 – 20 January 2018.
The world-class creative team behind the production includes Tony and Olivier award-winning director John Tiffany and two-time BAFTA Award-winning writer Jack Thorne, who are also the creators of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Before Harry, came 'Let the Right One In', their bewitching production, adapted from John Ajvide Lindqvist’s original Swedish novel and film of the same name.
'Let the Right One In' is a tender, funny and brutal love story following the burgeoning relationship of Oskar and Eli. Oskar is a lonely, bullied teenager who lives with his mother on the edge of town.
Eli just moved in next door. She doesn’t go to school and stays indoors all day. These two young misfits soon forge a deep connection but, when a series of mysterious killings plagues the neighbourhood, their friendship is tested beyond all imaginable limits.
Reviews have praised the two young leads Craig Connolly, who plays lonely Oskar, and Katie Honan playing Eli – the centuries-old but eternally young vampire . They are joined by a talented company of Richard Clements, Nick Dunning, Gavin Fullam, Jamie Hallahan, Tommy Harris, Bob Kelly and Ruth McGill.
The production features movement direction by Steven Hoggett, original music by BAFTA Award-winning Icelandic composer Ólafur Arnalds, set design by Tony Award-winner Christine Jones, lighting design by Chahine Yavroyan, sound design by Olivier Award-winner Gareth Fry and special effects design by Jeremy Chernick.
