The burgeoning indie-rock outfit launched their self-titled EP, Above the Rush, earlier this week at St. Catherine’s Cultural Centre in Kinsale.
Arising from the colourful streets of Kinsale Co. Cork, Above the Rush debuted their first self-titled EP at St. Catherine’s Cultural Centre earlier this week. A dynamic slow-burner that perfectly balances soothing melodies with grunge infused rhythm, Above the Rush is sure to usher the new indie-rock outfit into the national spotlight.
Founded by lead vocalist and guitarist Ben Dillon, the trio is completed by Mikey O’Connell on bass and Ronan Daly on drums.
The band's recent EP, recorded at Wavefield Studio and produced by Brian Casey, took on a new life during its April 14 launch party, filling the former Church of Ireland with the band’s fresh, indie sound.
Built back in 1744, St. Catherine’s Cultural Centre is known to be one of the most spectacular venues in Cork, a historic hub for live music, theatre productions, art exhibitions and wedding celebrations.
