The Dublin-based multi-instrumentalist's violin – which "has a few distinctive features" – was stolen from his car last week
Louis Younge – a member of Irish bands Bricknasty and Sky Atlas – is appealing for help locating his violin, which was stolen late last week from his car on Thomas Court, just off Thomas Street, in Dublin 8.
"It has a few distinctive features," the multi-instrumentalist explained in a post on Instagram. "It was made by David McGrath (label printed on the inside) has a Fisman pickup on it and has a pretty noticeable repair scar up the right of the body. It’s in a black rectangular Jakob Winter case with a Müsing C4 bow (Müsing printed on the bow itself)."
Over the weekend, Louis issued an update on his Instagram Stories, thanking all of his friends for sharing his original post.
"No sign of my baby yet," he wrote, "but it's really nice to know how many people have your back when it comes down to it."
He also urged all of his "musician friends, or really anyone that has valuable equipment for their artistic practice" to take the time to "take loads of photos of your gear."

"Any labels, any marks, things that make them stand out," he continued. "Label your cases and take photos of them too. Personally I'm also gonna get loads of AirTags and have them in all my cases – Dublin seems to be really bad for car break-ins and things being stolen, and there are some really easy things you can do to help yourself..."

In addition to violin, Louis plays keys, guitar and alto saxophone. He has played with, and/or arranged strings for, a wide array of artists – including Toshín, David Keenan, Zapho, Pa Sheehy and more.
