Proceeds from the night – including sales of Adam’s self-made merchandise – will go directly to Medical Aid for Palestinians
Following the release of his The Garden EP earlier this year, Adam O'Rua has announced a special charity gig, Flowers For Palestine, coming to Whelan's Upstairs on October 8.
Through proceeds from the gig, including merch sales, the Irish singer, songwriter and producer is raising funds for Medical Aid for Palestinians – whose teams are currently responding to growing health and humanitarian needs in Gaza, Lebanon and the West Bank.
In addition to a headline performance from Adam, the night will feature music from special guests Abood Aladham, a Jordanian/Palestinian multi-faceted artist and activist, and GNS, a Malawian-born, Irish-raised up-and-comer who's already been tipped for greatness by Hot Press.
"Unbelievably we're 1 year on from the start of Israel's assault on Palestine," Adam recently reflected on Instagram. "We've all witnessed the atrocities being committed against Palestinians on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, so every ticket sold €10 goes directly to @medicalaidpal to help save the lives of the 10s of thousands of Palestinians in need of urgent, life-saving care."
Adam has also asked attendees to 'bring flowers in the colours of the Palestinian flag – red, green, white, or black – if they have them growing in their gardens.'
