Fountains of Wayne singer Adam Schlesinger has been hospitalised in New York for Coronavirus.
He has left a lasting impression on the music industry, receiving an Oscar nomination for the 1996 title song to Tom Hanks' 'That Thing You Do', and Fountains of Wayne were nominated for best new artist and best pop duo/performance for Fountains of Wayne. He was also nominated for two Tony Awards for his musical adaptation of Cry Baby, the John Waters comedy starring Johnny Depp.

"Thank you for the outpouring of love for Adam and his family," Schlesinger's family said in a statement given to USA TODAY. "Adam has been hospitalized with COVID-19. He’s on a ventilator and has been sedated to facilitate his recovery. He is receiving excellent care, his condition is improving and we are cautiously optimistic. His family appreciates all of the love and support."
