Pop, is it? We’ll give you some pop... on this deliriously good mini-album of theme tunes for the better class of romantic adventurer. Pop hooks you could hang a summer wardrobe on? Check. Intelligence? Check. Best pop vocalist in the country? Check.

Nothing like beginning your album with a flawless one-two-three-four punch of irresistible put-them-on-repeat singles-in-waiting. You’ll think you’ve put the wrong record on when Adventura Majestica’s sashays past you to the tropical-cocktail-bar to get something with a paper umbrella in it, with Martin McCann resplendent-voiced as ever, and guest holidaymaker Miriam Ingram full of tipsy excitability.
‘In Flight’ is a classic Sack single in the more traditional vein. ‘Sugar Free’s flickering home-movie evocations gently circumscribe a vocal take that would leave kd lang quite verdantly jealous.

Careening on from there, ‘Bivouac’ jets off to meet its lover in a flush of sugared riffs, hedonism and inadvisably Big Romance. And there are three other truly accomplished slices of pop wonderfulness for anyone who doesn’t, at this point, have to head back to the hotel room for a nap.
Right, then. Meet you at the duty-free in an hour.
