Afro-Irish singer Tolu Makay releases new song 'Ocean'
The emerging Soul Alt singer shares another empowerment tune.
'Ocean' is Tolu Makay's first single in 2019. The emotionally-charged song comes with a beautiful video that shows the singer dancing on a beach.
The track is melancholic but masked with an upbeat tempo and represents the loop effect of one's memories. In the music video, memory is described to be like a scratched vinyl that is in a constant loop.
The Afro-Irish singer said about the song: "This is for the ones who find it difficult to express their pain. For the ones who hold the guilt till it shrivels their identity instead of learning and manifesting into the damn amazing person they are meant to be. CRY it out and let it go!"
Tolu Makay is an independent Soul Alt singer from Dublin who was born in Nigeria. Inspired by the likes of Erykah Badu, Nina Simone, Sabrina Claudio, Jhene Aiko and others, she strives to create emotive songs that promote empowerment and self-love.
