The intimate headline show will celebrate the release of her upcoming album, Personal History.
Dublin indie pop artist Ailbhe Reddy has announced that she will headline a show at The Workman’s Club on October 2.
That same day, Reddy will release Personal History, her debut album. The concert at one of Dublin’s most iconic venues will celebrate the album, which has already attracted significant hype.
So far, Reddy has shared two singles from the album, both of which Hot Press named track of the day: ‘Time Difference’ on June 24 and ‘Between Your Teeth’ on July 29.
The two tracks feature the fresh folk-pop sound and introspective, confessional songwriting that earned Reddy a spot on the Irish Times’s ‘50 people to watch in 2019’ list.
‘Between Your Teeth’ has an operatic chorus that soars above an instrumental evocative of cult-favorites Beach Bunny and Diet Cig. It’s a powerful effect: Reddy’s wild vocals give emotional force to her brainy lyrics.
‘Time Difference’, with its ska-like strumming pattern, is tight, bright and upbeat. Interspersing rapid-fire verses with doo-wop style harmonies, Reddy sounds a bit like Sidney Gish.

The two tracks have the same core themes: travel, and how distance strains relationships. Reddy says she wrote both tracks during a period when she was shuttling back and forth between England and Ireland, recording in London and maintaining a relationship in Dublin.
Describing ‘Between Your Teeth’, Reddy said “both people hold things back because they either don't want, or don't know, how to express themselves.
“While travelling alone I always spent a lot of time thinking too much about past conversations and wondering what words were being held back between another person's teeth.”
