The CEO of AIM Ireland Gilly Dooley has been selected as Ireland’s first representative at the Music Leaders Network
Association of Independent Music CEO Gill Dooley has been selected to participate in the fifth edition of the Music Leaders Network, a leadership programme for women, and non binary people in the music industry in the UK and Ireland.
Gill Dooley, CEO, AIM Ireland said the announcement: “I’ve always believed in championing women in music."
Continuing Dooley said: "I want to lead AIM Ireland in a way that is true to my values, whilst delivering on the mission to promote growth, awareness and opportunities for the independent music industry at a national and international level".
Concluding the music consultant said: "My decision to apply was fuelled by the program's commitment to fostering confident, effective female leaders who live by their values, make ambitious career moves, and ask for the recognition and compensation they deserve. So far, this journey has been nothing short of inspiring in helping me to do this".
The prestigious programme is led by respected music industry educators Remi Harris and Tamara Gal-On, who founded Music Leaders Network in 2020. It is open to both company employees and self-employed people with a minimum of 5 years music industry experience.

This year saw the programme go from strength to strength with two cohorts running in the UK and recruitment for the first international edition of the programme - Nordic Music Leaders Network, which takes place in early 2024.
Dooley is an independent music consultant, mentor and the CEO of AIM Ireland Ireland’s national association for independent music.
Beginning her career with EMI, Dooley spent time working with Irish indie RMG Chart, New Zealand’s TWL and Hot Press before joining Universal Music in 2007. She spent more than 11 years as Director of Digital & Business Development- navigating the rise of piracy and the dawn of streaming, whilst embracing innovation and flexibility as the keys to success in the evolving digital landscape. Going out on her own in 2018, she began working as an artist manager, and took on the role of lead commercial consultant on an Enterprise Ireland funded audio tech project.
Gill has provided mentor services for Keychange’s partnership with shesaid.so - we.grow and continues to be a mentor with Minding Creative Minds, and with private clients. Gill also sits on the boards of IMPALA and the European Music Managers Alliance.
