Emerging artist Áine has today shared an acoustic rendition of her latest single, ‘Dislocated’ - the title track from her eponymous upcoming EP, out 6th September via Parlophone. The studio version has grown on streaming platforms following a feature on this year’s Love Island.
Áine’s new stripped back session of her latest single, ‘Dislocated’, highlights her vocals as she sings of isolation, change and coming out stronger on the other side of a tumultuous journey.
Inspired by the rise of pop superstars Lady Gaga and MARINA (and the Diamonds), Áine’s small-town upbringing - she hails from County Cavan - meant her dreams of ascending to such heights felt unattainable, until Glastonbury 2016. Plucked from a pub stage to appear on primetime BBC festival coverage, she mesmerised viewers with her performance.
Like her musical heroes, Áine’s releases are frank and honest; a formula that’s clearly resonating with her growing fanbase.
The announcement of the Dislocated EP follows Áine’s Blue Valentine EP, released earlier in 2019. The 5-track project showcased her vocals and marked a statement of intent from the rising artist.
Her upcoming EP, Dislocated, will feature five tracks including ‘Ghost Train’, a ballad to showcase her power vocals. Referencing the 1972 satirical novel by Ira Levin, ‘Stepford Wife’ is a lyrically cutting paean to domesticity. Rounding out the EP is a stripped back cover of Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson’s country-pop-disco fusion ‘Nothing Break Likes A Heart’ and the aforementioned ‘Dislocated’ (acoustic).
