Folk singer-songwriter Áine Tyrrell has released her latest song ‘People Like Me And You’ alongside a stunning music video from Busty Beatz.
Australia-based Irish singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Áine Tyrrell has unveiled her latest single ‘People Like Me And You,’ the first advanced release off her upcoming album Mise Éire, born out of her remarkable journey from the coast of Ireland to eastern Australia.
‘People Like Me And You’ tells a powerful story of empowerment in the face of adversity, narrating Tyrrell’s experience as she escaped a decade of domestic violence with her three children. Redefining her story from victimhood to triumph, Tyrrell’s raw lyrics and vulnerable delivery address global issues of violence against women in the home and in the music industry.
“We’re not just releasing music; we’re shifting things, making change, one step at a time. Our mission is to raise awareness, hope, and to holistically bring art into healing spaces,” Tyrrell said of the new track.
Arriving alongside an official music video directed and produced by Busty Beatz from Hot Brown Honey, ‘People Like Me And You’ is not only a song, but also a social advocacy project, integrating Tyrell’s music talents with her experience as an educator and activist.

The new music video, featuring Riah Pelesa, depicts the story of a Samoan woman as she navigates the obstacles of single motherhood and eviction, rediscovering her artistic voice in the process.
An inspiring storyteller and unmissable live act, Tyrrell invites her listeners to join her on a journey of resilience, hope and self-discovery.
“If someone like me can stand here against all odds, so can you,” Tyrrell remarked.
