Alanis Morissette Confirms Jagged Little Pill Musical
Jagged Little Pill is set to hit theatres in 2018.
Directed by Diane Paulus, Morissette’s 1995 break-through album which features hits such as 'Ironic', 'Hand In My Pocket' and 'You Oughta Know' is set to debut at the American Repertory Theatre in May 2018.
“This team that has come together for this Jagged Little Pill musical is my musical theatre dream come true. The chemistry between all of us is cracking and I feel honoured to be diving into these songs again, surrounded by all of this searing talent. Diabloe and Diane are already taking these deeply personal songs that are part of my soul’s marrow to a whole other level of hope, freedom and complexity,” the Canadian singer said in a statement.
The musical will be directed by Tony-winner Diane Paulus and written by Diablo Cody. Tom Kitt will be taking care of the music arrangements and orchestration.
Jagged Little Pill was originally released in 1995 and has sold over 33 million copies worldwide. The album has also been nominated for a total of nine Grammy Awards and has won five, including Album of the Year in 1996.
