Alcachofa (remixes)

Ricardo Villalobos’ ‘Alcachofa’ gets the remix treatment it deserves. Minimal masters Baby Ford and Thomas Melchior deliver butt shaking minimalist re-works of ‘Easy Lee’, while Jay Haze’s version is loose and off the wall. The highlight is Weatherall and Tenniswood’s remix of ‘Dexter’ though. The duo take the original track’s melody and wrap it around a moody, Gothic sound and cavernous bassline, making for a thing of uniquely dark beauty.
