The 21 year old rapper will release his mixtape on October 2nd.
Waterford native Alex Gough is returning to the airwaves with a brand new single. 'BACKSEAT', out today, is a smooth and exciting track, mixed by Denzel Curry's right hand man Nate Burgess. The engineer was at the top of Gough's wish list when it came to creating the overall sound for the release. The single comes with news that Gough will release a new mixtape, Forever Classic, on October 2nd.
As a musician first – Gough is also a talented jazz drummer – he developed an easy easy flow and paired it with self-deprecating wit, solidifying his place as one of the most intriguing acts to come out of Ireland's brimming hip-hop scene. The brand of ‘self-conscious hip-hop’ Gough favours mixes 80s/90s nostalgia with life’s modern anxieties.
Of the track, Gough explains: "There have been plenty of parties I’ve gotten bored of just cause I’m distracted. BACKSEAT is basically about all of the things I’m distracted by when really I should be in the moment. It’s also a song to play really loud in your car so I guess it all makes sense."
