Alexis Ffrench announces show at the 3Olympia Theatre

On his The Classical Soul Tour Alexis Ffrench will stop for a show in Dublin next February.

On Tuesday February 4, Alexis Ffrench will headline at Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre.

Over the course of his musical career, Ffrench has garnered many accolades. His music has over a billion streams, his album Evolution has more that 30,000 sales in the UK and his single ‘Bluebird’ has achieved gold status in the U.S.

Ffrench is a multi-talented pianist and composer. His new album Classical Soul Volume One blends Ffrench’s signature soul music with classic hip hop mixtapes using snippets of soul anthems like ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ and ‘A Change Is Gonna Come’.

The album is introspective and meant to be about “rebuilding”. Classical Soul Volume One was created after the tragic death of Ffrench’s father. He says how “these experiences prompt you to consider what you have, and what you have been left with.”

So far, Ffrench has released two singles from the album: ‘The Way It Was’ and ‘Reverie’. The full album will be put out on September 20 2024. Collaboration is an important part of music for Ffrench.

“It’s about finding people who are in a similar space artistically. But, crucially, I don’t think we need to have similarities in style or genre to work together, it’s about looking for commonalities in our musical DNA. I love finding kindred spirits and people who share similar views from an artistic standpoint.”

When creating this album, Ffrench found himself in the Scottish wilderness to write large parts of the LP.

He says, “I have struggled at times with feeling that the world is moving too fast, which is not conducive to the kind of music I write. Being alone – either in nature or at the piano – are my ways of trying to arrest time, trying to seize it and slow it down.”

Ffrench’s 2025 UK and Ireland tour will bring him to Belfast, Dublin, London, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow. Tickets for his Dublin show will go on sale Friday May 10 at 10 a.m. and can be found here.
