In what is becoming another landmark year for one of the most notable tenors of this generation, Alfie Boe has announced a date at Bord Gais Energy Theatre on 28th April next year as part of a tour to support the release of his forthcoming album As Time Goes By.
The classical singer revealed that he would be returning to the solo spotlight when he confirmed the details of the record, which is to be released on the 23rd of November. The album celebrates an era of music in the shape of the 1930s and 1940s which is said to be unfortunately overlooked as it finds itself sandwiched between the roaring 20s that came before it and the emphatic emergence of rock 'n' roll that followed.
Boe is one of the most decorated tenors of the modern era, boasting two recent UK No. 1 albums alongside his friend Michael Ball with 'Together' and 'Together Again', as well as two Classic BRIT Awards earlier this year for 'Best Album' and 'Group of the Year'.
"I'm excited to get back on the road, especially with a new record that I'm so proud of. These songs are at their best when performed live!" says Alfie.

He adds, "We'll be enjoying some of great songs from my previous records, but I more than anything want to bring back to life an era when British audiences discovered a brand new kind of American music, full of energy, optimism and romance. I'd like to transport people to a time in their lives, a moment or even a style. I hope you all enjoy being transported there as much as I do!"
Tickets for Alfie Boe at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre are priced from €39.50 including booking fees and go on sale this Friday (October 19th) at 9am. You can check out a trailer for the release of As Time Goes By below.
